  • Heather Mahler ERYT-200, Owner

Heather is the Owner of Caya Yoga Community, a direct descendent of Still Waters Yoga, which she co-owned with Kathie Jaskolski from Nov. 2018-May 2020.

Heather has been a lover of movement since she began ballet classes at the age of 3, and loves the symmetry between yoga and dance. She turned to yoga in 1998 to support her chronically ill/special needs son, Addison, with breathing and movement, and for herself with Tibetan Buddhist Meditation (RIGPA) with his passing in 2003. She has felt a strong and ever present calling to deepen her studies of all things philosophical, psychological, & metaphysical, and to share her findings with anyone willing to listen. Drawn to the power of slow and functional, she likes to practice Qi-Gong and really any kind of embodied movement/breathing practices she comes across.

A natural nurturer, Heather feels specifically aligned with the fact that as humans, our body and mind are amazingly miraculous when it comes to the healing powers we hold within us—we only need to remember. As your yoga guide, she will encourage you to take the time on your mat to become reacquainted with yourself, again and again, and to honor what you discover—in body, mind, & heart. Because when it comes down to it, you are your best teacher!

Heather is a Reiki Master Practitioner, and an experienced yoga teacher with over 1900 teaching hours. She received her RYT200 Hatha Yoga Teacher certification in 2012 from Kathie Jaskolski ERYT500/Still Waters Yoga, has 250 hours (plus ongoing) of certification in Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation with Josh Summers & Terry Cockburn/Summers School of Yin Yoga, and is currently studying to become a certified yoga therapist with Brandt & Anna Passalacqua/Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy School.

Heather and her husband, Adam, live in Maumee with their children, Eli & Forest.
